Getting Started

What is MCQIndia JEE?
A free practice site for JEE Main: topic-wise quizzes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, previous year papers with the official timing and marking, and a dashboard that shows where you are losing marks.
Do I need an account?
You can try a short practice quiz without one. Create a free account to attempt previous year papers, take longer quizzes and keep your scores and progress. Quizzes you took as a guest are saved to your account when you log in.

Taking Quizzes

How do practice quizzes work?
Pick a subject and, if you like, a topic, the number of questions and a time limit. Questions are drawn at random from the question bank. You can move between questions, mark them for review and change answers until you submit.
How is a practice quiz marked?
With JEE Main marking switched on (the default), a correct answer gets +4, a wrong answer -1 and an unanswered question 0. You can turn it off to simply count correct answers.

Scores & Progress

Where can I see how I am doing?
Your dashboard shows recent quizzes, accuracy for each subject and the topics where you lose the most marks, with a link to practise each one.

Subjects & Difficulty

Which subjects and topics are covered?
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, organised by the units of the JEE Main syllabus. Each question is tagged Easy, Medium or Difficult.

Previous Year Papers

What are Previous Year Papers (PYP)?
Previous Year Papers are real JEE Main question papers, organised by year and subject, so you can practise actual exam questions under exam timing and marking.
Which subjects are available in Previous Year Papers?
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You can attempt one subject at a time, or a full paper that combines all three into one timed test, as in the real exam.
How much time is given for each PYP subject test?
A full JEE Main paper has 180 minutes, as in the real exam. The exam has no separate time per subject, so a single-subject paper here gets 60 minutes, a third of the full paper.
How does the section pattern work in PYP?
Each subject has Section A (20 multiple-choice questions) and Section B (numerical-answer questions). For 2021 to 2024 papers, Section B has 10 questions and only the first 5 you attempt are counted. From 2025, Section B has 5 questions and all are compulsory. Either way, 25 questions per subject count, 75 in a full paper.
Can I choose the order of subjects in Full Paper mode?
Yes. In Full Paper mode, you can choose the subject sequence before starting the test. Each subject is shown in its own order, with Section A first and Section B after that for years that have one.
How are previous year papers marked?
With negative marking on (the default), +4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong one and 0 for a question left unanswered, following the JEE Main pattern. You can change the marks or switch negative marking off before you start.
Will ignored Section B questions still appear in results?
Yes. If you attempt more than the allowed number in Section B, extra attempted questions can still appear in the result view, but they are not counted in scoring.
